At Advanced Technology & Manufacturing we are proud of our equipment that gives us the edge over many of our competitors. We have individual equipment for traditional and new lead(Pb)-free RoHS compliant assembly processes. Our equipment is updated as new technology dictates. Our equipment is housed in modern premises with antistatic flooring throughout all assembly and storage areas.
We have three Samsung 450 series Pick and Place surface mount component loading machines fitted with automatic vision systems for high accuracy component placement.
We have two EKRA automatic printing machines with automatic vision systems that check the accuracy of solder paste placement onto circuit boards. This ensures that circuit boards are accurately printed with solder paste before components are loaded. This is vital as PCB printing is the most important process in the surface mount assembly.
We use two reflow ovens. An Ersa 5 zone convection oven for traditional lead(Pb) solder paste and a 16 zone convection oven for RoHS compliant assembly using lead(Pb)-free solder pastes. The intrinsic properties and higher temperature required by lead free solder pastes requires exacting controls over the preheating, reflow and cooling stages to ensure correct bonding without damaging RoHS compliant components. This is achievable with controls over 16 zones.
We use two wave solder machines. An Ersa for traditional lead based solders and a 5 stage machine for lead(Pb)-free solder for RoHS compliant assembly work. The 5 stages offers full control over the pre-heat, waving and cooling stages which is vital for quality solder joints when using lead-free solder.
Profilers are temperature data logging devices with multiple sensors that can travel through reflow ovens and wave solders with circuit boards. They capture temperatures achieved at several positions on a circuit board during the process. This information is used to fine tune individual circuit board “profiles” stored in reflow ovens and wave solders. Heating and cooling processes are critical for achieving correct solder joints and for avoiding unseen damage to components. Advanced Technology and Manufacturing has two profilers including one using the latest automatic simulation software that guides the operator to efficiently achieve the best equipment settings without continual trial and error sequences.
